Well you all know that I love drawing birds in pairs.
There is something about their monogamous relationships that I admire and find utterly romantic!!!
Magpies are very family oriented, they find their forever partner and are usually together for their entire lives. Living with the entire family on the same patch of land for decades.
You can tell the sex of magpies by the nape of their necks. If it is all white then it is a male, if there is motley grey shades and markings on their nape then it is female.
Incredibly intelligent birds and their beautiful song is called warbling.
I love creating this nuzzle in my artworks. No reference photo exists of the birds together like this.
